2023 Annual scholarship 2023 of the state of Lower Saxony in the field of visual arts
The state of Lower Saxony honors special artistic talent, performance and quality in the field of fine arts with this scholarship and thus underlines the importance of Lower Saxony as an art location. Lower Saxony's Minister of Culture, Falko Mohrs, awarded three annual scholarships in 2023. They are each endowed with 12.000 Euros.

2023 Künstler:innenhäuser Worpswede GERMANY
The
Künstler:innenhäuser Worpswede is a renowned hub for art and culture in
Worpswede and the surrounding region. It serves as a residence,
workplace, and platform for artistic discourse. Formerly considered the
oldest and largest scholarship center in Europe until 2009, they
dedicated to shape the scholarship site of the future. The mission is to
establish Worpswede as a vibrant hub for art and culture.
The
focus lies in providing artists with a free and secure environment.
The Künstler:innenHaus Worpswede offers a range of grants and project
formats tailored to different life phases, creative pursuits, and
artistic practices, emphasizing the diversity of artistic expression.
2023 MeetFactory, Prague CZECH
REPUBLIC
The international Artists-in-Residence program was established in
2007 and is the largest studio program in Central Europe. MeetFactory
facilitates ten studios, which annually host over thirty visual artists,
curators, musicians, theater directors, and writers. They foster the
involvement of the artists in residence not only within the programming
of MeetFactory (Open Studios, Public House, Museum Night, etc.) and its
three exhibition spaces (exhibitions, performances, guided tours), but
also in the context of the Czech and Central European art scenes.
MeetFactory was collaborating with Studio ALTA for this residency and financed from the CULTURE MOVES EUROPE programm by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut.

The EAC (Contemporary Art Space) was opened in 2010 by the National Bureau of Culture on the initiative of the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture.
