tong tong - an immersive sound intervention
"tong tong" was inspired by the idea that a construction site functions like an orchestra, where individual solo instruments are mutually dependent and necessary for the planning process. The performance aimed to highlight the importance of collaboration and teamwork in achieving a shared goal. By using sound, the performance brought the SPEKTRUM to life as an acoustic space and sound body.
During the performance, we utilized various instruments and the musicians moved with their instruments alone or in pairs through both the old and new parts of the house. This created a unique and immersive experience for the audience, who were surrounded by the sounds of different wind instruments. The performance was designed to bring together the old and new parts of the house, serving as a metaphor for the past and future converging in the present moment.
